  1. Hi johnson

I just signed up for your Dynamic sketching class at CGMA, super excited about it. I have a few questions.

    1) I am not great at drawing, infact I struggle with drawing really anything, is this class good for me?.

    2) I am wanting to understand more about forms, and learning how to connect shapes and simplifying them, will the class go over that?

    3) I have a really hard time drawing cubes, and rotating them through the flat 2d surface, is this something we will go over in class or possiblly go over?

    4) I want to know more about quickly drawing what I see, and not having to get bogged down into Perspective will the class deal with simplifying the drawing method?

5)I also have a hard time carving into the paper. My toruble is I cant get past the fact its a flat 2d surface, and that the lines we draw project a sense of depth. Are there any paper or form carving methods that we can go over in the class

    thanks

  3. Hi Mittin,

Thanks for signing up. Hopefully you noticed that was advertisement for last year's term. Fortunately, I'm teaching this Winter so you're in luck. Since the classes fill up very quickly, there's a chance that I may not be your final instructor for the class. There are actually a few instructors that teach said class. You can't go wrong no matter who you end up getting.

To quickly summarize an answer for your other question. That class is a beginner level, so it's not necessary that you have to draw well right off the bat. Drawing cubes going into space and basic perspective are two subjects that are covered. There are no shortcuts to drawing, so it's a step by step process. Hope that helps.
